Summary
[Publisher description] This research study was designed to address the following three questions. What are the needs and opportunities for women's groups to take advantage of new technologies, such as the Internet and email, as a development tool? How have such tools helped to forward the specific causes of women's organizations and of the women's movement in general? What are some of the success stories and lessons learned from efforts to use ICT as a tool for women's empowerment? The results of this research, in the form of preliminary conclusions and recommendations, are to be used to raise awareness among policy makers of the linkage between ICT and the basic concerns of women, as well as to offer suggestions to both donors and NGOs on possible follow-up forms of technical assistance.
