Summary
[Abstract] Studies conducted in the ITU Radiocommunication sector (ITU-R) concluded that as long as amateur stations are limited to a maximum radiated power of 1W e.i.r.p., the risk of harmful interference to the other services to which the band is allocated - fixed, maritime mobile, and radionavigation - is sufficiently low to justify a secondary allocation. Here in the US the Utilities Telecom Council (UTC) may lobby against us, as they have done in the past, on the grounds that amateur operation could jeopardize the reliability and security of the Power Line Carrier systems that control the power grid.
