The spread of telecommunications is a sensitive index of national advancement. Economic and cultural progress cannot be maintained without adequate support of telecommunications. Safe and rapid movement of men and materials over the high seas and in the air through modern transport is almost impossible without the innumerable telecommunication aids that form part of the transport system. Man's adventure in outer space has become possible only because reliable and ,efficient telecommunication means are available to him.
